I am a qualified CBT therapist and I have been accredited as well as registered (registration no. 037157) as a psychotherapist and counsellor by BACP – Registered Member MBACP (Accredited).
My qualifications include a postgraduate diploma (level 7) in therapeutic counselling (CBT pathway) following an accredited course, postgraduate qualifications in law and human resource management (Assoc CIPD), a BA honours degree in English literature and a certificate in Welsh as a 2nd language. To maintain standards I regularly attend clinical supervision and continuing professional development courses (including about different models such as solution-focused, acceptance and commitment, compassion-focused, mindfulness-based-cognitive and writing therapies).
CBT is an evidence-based approach which is recommended by NICE and provides a safe framework within which problems can be explored. We would focus on your goals from the outset. I have registered with the Disclosure & Barring Services’ updating service and the Information Commissioner’s Office and I work within the Data Protection Act and the standards of my professional bodies.
I take referrals from, for example, self-funding clients, EAPs, private health providers, occupational health departments and medico-legal organisations. I have many years of work experience with diverse clients including with the NHS and charities that help people with health and other problems.
I provide sessions and assessments on a 1-2-1 and face-to-face basis for adults who are experiencing problems related to, for example, anxiety in its many forms (including panic, OCD, intrusive thoughts, phobias, health and social anxieties); stress; depression; low mood; trauma; loss and grief; low self-esteem; resilience; loneliness; guilt; perfectionism; emotional eating; menopause; pain; relationships; sleep and work.
