I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2012 at University College London. Alongside extensive NHS experience, my private clients have included: Dept of Health & Social Care, South London Adult Social Services and Investec bank, in addition to individual adults and children. In my opinion the most important thing a psychologist can do for you and with you is to help you understand why you feel the way you do and what has happened to you in your life which might help to explain it. I’m highly experienced at doing this with both adults and children/families. I work with low mood, general anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, burnout, relationships and also with those who find it difficult to name their distress. I’m able to work with neurodivergence (e.g. ADHD, ASD). I draw on a variety of therapeutic models in my practice to meet the individual needs and goals of my client including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). My current role is leading an NHS team specialised in childhood trauma. After graduating in psychology from Oxford University I had a successful career in the Police before qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, so I’m familiar with how the Criminal Justice System operates which some clients have found helpful. I also held a Senior Lecturer role in Goldsmiths University’s Psychology Dept for 10 years alongside my NHS work where many stressed students described me as approachable, down-to-earth and knowledgeable.
