I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with 8 years’ clinical experience, obtaining my undergraduate and doctorate degrees at Cardiff University. I have worked across a range of settings, with most of my experience coming from secondary community mental health teams (CMHTs) and early intervention for psychosis teams (EIP).
I constantly hold in mind the values of warmth, kindness, and being non-judgemental when working with people. My aim is to create a therapeutic space where difficulties can be discussed openly and honestly, to allow people to understand themselves and make the changes they want to make to their lives.
My favoured therapeutic approaches are Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); however, I often work in an integrative way and tailor my approach to each individual.
I have trained teams in how to help people with insomnia and sleep difficulties, and how to adapt approaches for neurodivergent people. These are interests of mine as I have seen the enormous impact these changes can have on people’s lives. I have also provided supervision for many Assistant Psychologists and supported them to progress through their careers.
Outside of work I’m a keen advocate for sport and fitness in maintaining good mental health. I have particular interests in tennis, rugby, motorsport, and fitness-related events.
