I am a skilled in a number of therapeutic approaches such as Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Having skills in a variety of approaches allows me to use whichever techniques are best suited to the needs of the individual in question.
I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist who has extensive experience of working both in the NHS and private practice. I offer assessment and psychological therapy on a one to one basis.
I have worked with many people to help them learn new ways of dealing differently with a range of difficulties, including panic attacks, stress, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, low self esteem, trauma and PTSD, with a specialism in anxiety related difficulties. I also have experience of working with those on the autistic spectrum and have many years experience of providing assessments for those adults, without a learning disability, who feel they might be on the autistic spectrum.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), an associate fellow member of British Psychology Society (BPS) and committee member of the BPS Division of Counselling Psychology Wales (DCoPW)
I have also recently qualified to deliver the one day Mindful Mamma Hypnobirthing classes. This offers mothers to be the opportunity to learn how they can feel confident in dealing with whatever birth experience they may have and techniques to have a calm, relaxed and empowered birth.
