I am a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist with over nine years of experience working within Mental Health services. I currently work both privately and within the NHS. The majority of my experience is in assessing and treating adults experiencing a wide range of psychological, emotional, relational and physical health difficulties, in particular individuals struggling with anxiety-related problems, relationship difficulties, low mood, or trauma.
As a clinical psychologist, I am trained to a Doctorate level. I am an integrative psychological therapist, which means I draw upon multiple therapeutic approaches, depending on the unique needs of the individual. I have a particular interest in evidence-based relational psychotherapies, for example, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).I have completed two years of additional specialist psychotherapy training in (I-EDTA) accredited ISTDP. This model helps individuals to face feelings about past and present experiences that they often find overwhelming due to their painful nature.
I am committed to working with individuals to develop a non-judgemental and supportive therapeutic relationship where feelings and difficulties can be explored. The aim of our work together would be to increase awareness and understanding of your difficulties and then finding ways for you to establish positive change, allowing you to move forward in life.
I appreciate that making the decision to engage in psychological therapy can be daunting and an important first step. Finding a therapist you can build a therapeutic relationship is fundamental, and therefore I offer a brief complimentary telephone consultation, prior to any assessment bookings, where you can ask questions that might support you in this process. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss accessing therapy further
